Did you know National Thrift Store day was August 17th? No? Well neither did I, until last week! I know, I know, today is the 18th, but life happens right? I shared recently that I had joined a #ThriftStoreSwap group. My "swap" items arrived last week from Maureen @ The Fox & Bear Homestead, and I am loving them.
This swap's theme is Fall, and I am seeing so many Fall possibilities with these items. I have a mini wooden serving tray, a ceramic charger and a swan vase. The purpose of the swap is to be gifted with a few items from your patterns favorite thrift store, and change them into something totally different. Do you have any good makeover ideas for these three items?
Check out some of my other swap-mates items!
This post is right up my alley. Thrifting and crafting are what I do to procrastinate my homework!!
ReplyDeleteI think you could put a candle or something in the swan...instead of flowers? Because it's fragile it's hard to manipulate. OR you could make it a tape dispenser! The wings arch up perfectly for that.
Happy Crafting!!

Thrifting is so much fun! I think you could paint the vase a color you like. Gold is very in right now. The serving tray could be great for jewelry or perfume! Might also be something you paint. Good luck, can't wait to see what you decide to do!

Yes, thrifting is celebrated finally! Aka, my entire wardrobe. It ruined shopping at normal places for me though, because everything seems so obnoxiously expensive now! Why spend more when I could pay $10 or less?

There are some amazing antique shops where I live, but they're always closed when I'm heading home from work. The pieces that you received are so neat! I would definitely spray paint the swan - maybe a nice, glossy bubblegum pink? Excited to see what you will do with the items :)
